Karan Thomas, Director
Karan has more than 30 years’ experience in Health Improvement and Public Health practice as an independent consultant. Her specialist topic areas are physical activity, health behaviour change and group learning.
Karan’s key skills are in designing and delivering behaviour change development programmes, for professionals working on a ‘one to one’ basis or with group based programmes. She has a wide range of experience of working with both public and private sector organisations and frontline staff. Until recently she was an Honorary Fellow at Manchester University School of Epidemiology and Population Health and a trustee of the National Obesity Forum with specific responsibility for physical activity. She is currently a member of the Royal Society of Public Health’s, sector advisory panel for behaviour change training.
She is a visiting lecturer with both Bristol and Manchester University Masters programmes and is regularly asked to speak at conferences and events.
Jill Scott, Registered Dietitian and Programme Manager
Jill is a Registered Dietitian and Nutrition Consultant, and currently also works part time as Learning & Development Manager with Macmillan Cancer Support. With nearly 30 years’ experience in the field of nutrition, diet and public health, Jill has developed particular expertise in the design and delivery of training workshops, including trainer training, and resource development for health professionals and patients, particularly in relation to healthy weight management and lifestyle behaviour change.
She has been running a successful business as a Freelance Dietitian since the mid 1990’s offering a professional nutrition and dietetic service to both the public and private sectors, locally and nationally. Jill is also a trainer for the British Dietetic Association’s Public Health Champions project, a Mindful Self-Compassion Teacher in Training, and is due to complete her Masters in Professional Development in 2019.
